Trust Renewed! MAXTECH’s 3t8m Telescopic Knuckle Boom Crane Shipped to Malaysia

2026-01-22

On January 20th, a festive atmosphere filled MAXTECH's  production base. A 3t8m telescopic knuckle boom marine crane wrapped in protective film completed final inspections and was officially shipped to Malaysia. Notably, this marks the second order of the same marine crane model from the Malaysian client—previously, a 3t12m telescopic knuckle Boom Crane was successfully delivered and put into operation. The 3t8m unit shipped this time has obtained NK class certification, complementing the first unit's BV certification. Together, they form a "dual-certification, dual-specification" customized solution, highlighting MAXTECH's customization capabilities and international compliance standards in the marine crane sector.

As a professional manufacturer deeply rooted in the offshore and marine equipment industry, MAXTECH's renewed cooperation with the Malaysian client stems from the stable performance of the first 3t12m telescopic Knuckle Boomship crane. It is reported that the initial 3t12m model perfectly met the client’s heavy-load lifting needs on ship decks with its flexible operational performance and reliable structural design. During nearly a year of actual operation, it maintained zero failures, earning high recognition from the client. Based on this trust, the client placed a second order with MAXTECH for the 3t8m specification, tailored to fit more compact ship spaces and enable precise, efficient cargo handling.

To accurately meet the client’s personalized requirements, MAXTECH's technical team made targeted optimizations to the 3t8m model based on the mature technology of the first unit. Adopting a lightweight design, the crane maintains a 3-ton rated load while shortening the boom length to 8 meters, significantly enhancing operational flexibility in confined spaces. Additionally, the hydraulic telescopic and knuckle boom drive systems have been upgraded to ensure smooth coordination of boom extension, luffing, and other movements, improving operational efficiency by over 15% compared to similar equipment. More notably, to comply with the regulatory requirements for operations in Malaysian waters and the high standards of ship operations, the 3t8m crane successfully passed rigorous certification by NK. The certification covers comprehensive inspections of structural strength, safety protection, and environmental adaptability, with every indicator meeting international marine equipment standards.

The previously delivered 3t12m model obtained certification from BV. As globally authoritative marine inspection and certification bodies, both BV and NK’s standards represent the highest level in the international marine equipment industry. Their certification processes include strict stages such as design review, component testing, and whole-machine trials. MAXTECH’s achievement of dual certifications from two major international classification societies for two specifications of the same crane model not only proves the versatility and flexibility of the company’s product design and manufacturing capabilities but also reflects its profound accumulation in international compliance. It can provide customized solutions that meet various global authoritative standards according to the needs of different clients and scenarios.

"A repeat order from the client is the greatest recognition for us, and the dual classification society certifications are the best testimony to our technical strength," stated a MAXTECH project manager. As an important shipping hub along the "Belt and Road," Malaysia's port and marine equipment market has extremely high requirements for equipment reliability and compliance. The smooth shipment of the 3t8m crane not only deepens the cooperative relationship between MAXTECH and the Malaysian client but also further strengthens the company’s competitiveness in the Southeast Asian marine equipment market.

In recent years, relying on its customization R&D capabilities and international compliance advantages, MAXTECH has become a preferred partner for many overseas clients, with products exported to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and other regions. The successful delivery and shipment of these two cranes with dual specifications and dual certifications will inject new momentum into MAXTECH’s expansion in the global marine equipment market. Looking ahead, the company will continue to focus on technological innovation in marine and offshore equipment, launching more high-end products that meet international standards and adapt to diverse scenarios, contributing "Intelligent Manufacturing in China" to the high-quality development of the global shipping industry.
